Lab Technician

Job Description

Lab Technician (commonly holding a DMLT or equivalent technical diploma) collects, labels, and tests biological specimens or industrial materials, records data, and maintains laboratory equipment.Sample Management: Collect, receive, inspect, label, and properly store blood, fluid, tissue, or material samples.Testing & Analysis: Perform routine diagnostic tests, chemical assays, or physical analyses following standard operating procedures (SOPs).Equipment Care: Set up, operate, calibrate, clean, and run basic troubleshooting on lab instruments and diagnostic devices.Record Keeping: Document test results accurately in physical registers and computerized Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or MS Excel.
