Job Description

A turner (lathe machine operator) sets up and operates manual or CNC (computer numerical control) lathes to shape rotating metal or plastic workpieces into precision cylindrical components.• Blueprint Reading: Study technical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances before machining.
• Machine Setup: Mount workpieces in chucks or fixtures, center them, and select/set cutting tools and speeds.
• Operations: Perform turning, facing, boring, drilling, threading, and taper-turning using hand wheels, levers, or programmed controls
