Job Description

A carpenter constructs, installs, and repairs building frameworks, structures, and wooden fixtures using specialized hand and power tools. Read and study architectural drawings, sketches, and building specifications to calculate dimensions and plan layouts.Measure, cut, shape, and join wood, steel, drywall, and composite materials.Build foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, roof frameworks, and staircases. Install window frames, doors, door hardware, cabinetry, molding, and trim. Inspect damaged wooden structures or fixtures and replace or reinforce them.
