Job Description

A professional painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and applying paint, stain, and coatings to residential, commercial, or industrial properties.Surface Preparation: Clean, wash, sand, and scrape walls. Fill cracks, holes, and joints with putty, plaster, or caulking.Site Protection: Cover floors, furniture, fixtures, and trim with drop cloths or masking tape.Application: Mix and match colors, then apply primers, base coats, paint, varnishes, or sealants using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.Cleanup & Safety: Remove protective coverings, restore fixtures, clean tools and equipment, and follow workplace safety rules.High school diploma or equivalent.Physical stamina, strength, and balance to stand for long periods or climb ladders.Attention to detail and good time-management skills.Prior experience in residential or commercial painting.
